Club basketball becomes a bit much in our 20s. Multiple trainings, film sessions and performance expectations are exhausting. None of us have aspirations to go pro. Domestic is the opposite. Short games with soft calls, in a team whose survival depends on fill-ins.
We all miss good basketball—the kind that’s competitive without being cutthroat. Fun without being sloppy.
Mismatch offers a middle ground for skilled players—a place to compete, kick it, and enjoy the game in its freest form. We’re chasing that feeling of hitting your local court, calling next, and jumping into a full-court 5 on 5. Only this time, the runs are organised and the competition is real.
OUR AIM
We're building a private pool of players who have experience playing Rep, Youth League or BigV basketball. We're not superstar athletes, but we all understand the rhythm of the game and appreciate a more consistent level of competition.
We’re playing the pickup ball you know and love, but adding a bit of competition to keep things interesting. We play first to seven, scoring ones and twos. Winner stays on.
At the end of the day, the four top teams play finals matches to compete for a free pickup run. We play for the love of the game - but let’s be honest, we miss the competition of game day and the thrill of playing for something.
